The Trust
Barton Court Academy Trust (BCAT) is a multi-academy Trust which was established in 2017.
It currently consists of three secondary schools: Barton Court Grammar School, an 11-18 years, mixed selective school in the heart of Canterbury, rated “Good” with many outstanding features by Ofsted in February 2020, and The Charles Dickens School, an 11-16 years mixed non-selective school in Broadstairs, which came out of special measures and is rated “Good” by Ofsted in March 2023. Barton Manor Free School, is an 11–18 years non-selective mixed school in the heart of Canterbury which opened to Year 7 in September 2022.
The Post
Leading a BCAT Central Finance Team a highly experienced and qualified Chief Finance Officer is sought for this brand new role across our Trust.
Candidates should have a relevant finance qualification at graduate level with an understanding of financial systems and procedures as well as extensive experience of managing people with excellent leadership skills.
This is a new and exciting role which will be demanding but rewarding. Candidates will have the unique opportunity to lead and manage a newly centralised team and will be integral in decision-making and managing change and challenge across all three of our schools.
The role will require some travel within the Trust area which includes two schools in Canterbury and one in Thanet with attendance at Governing Body meetings when required.
