Our Year 9 Hospitality & Catering pupils have truly risen to the challenge, mastering the art of the classic (and tricky!) Swiss roll. From carefully whisking and folding to achieving the perfect roll without a crack, they showcased outstanding skill and creativity.

OUR SCHOOL

The BCAT Trust consists of 3 schools: Barton Court Grammar School, an 11-18 years co-educational grammar school in the heart of Canterbury; The Charles Dickens School, an 11-16 years co-educational non-selective school in Broadstairs and opening in 2022 a Free School, Barton Manor School, an 11-18 years co-educational non-selective school co-sited with Barton Court Grammar School.

The Post

A reliable and experienced Specialist Teaching Assistant reporting to the SENCO is required for an immediate start to work with teachers to support the delivery of quality teaching and learning and to help to raise standards of achievement for all students. This post is suitable for someone who wishes to pursue a career in teaching and gain further experience in the workplace or someone who enjoys enabling students to learn and wants to play an integral role in supporting teaching and learning in a school.    

Candidates should have at least 2 years’ experience of working closely with SEND, be good communicators and able to relate well to children and deal tactfully with adults and must be able to work independently and be self-motivated.

Hours of work are 08.30am-15.30 Mon-Fri (to include a 60 minute unpaid lunch break).
