Reverse Advent for Thanet Food Link
Posted on: 19/12/2025December saw the CDS school community come together for a Reverse Advent Challenge, with tutor groups collecting food donations for Thanet Food Link.
The generosity shown by pupils, staff and families was incredible and every item donated will help make a real difference to families in need across Thanet. CDS is very proud of the kindness and teamwork shown and thank everyone for helping to spread hope and joy during the festive season and beyond.
The School received a lovely message of thanks from Thanet Food Link, below.
"Dear All Charles Dickens School,
Thank you so much for your generous donation of food to Thanet Food Link this Christmas. How kind of you to use this festive period to provide food to those in need locally.
Your donation came at just the right time as although we are finding that the numbers of people needing support have generally been lower this year than the previous couple, our donations have also gone down. Now when our numbers needing support are on the rise, we are finding it harder to provide, so you have given us a much needed extra boost.
We are encouraged both by the food you donated and also by knowing that you are thinking of us. Your food donation will reach the most needy in our community over this winter period.
