BMS - Funding Agreement is Signed

Posted on: 02/02/2022

Barton Court Academy Trust (BCAT) is delighted to announce that the Department for Education has signed the funding agreement for Barton Manor School, meaning this amazing new free school is now legally within the Trust and will open in September 2022.

Students can now be offered a place on 1 March and the recruitment of staff will start in earnest.

Executive Headteacher of the Trust, Kirstin Cardus, said: “We are absolutely delighted that after much hard work, we have reached this major milestone in providing a brand new school for local children to receive a quality education with the most incredible facilities.  We very much look forward to welcoming students, parents and staff to our school community and we can’t wait until we are formally handed the keys to the building and can start to move in.

I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the building of Barton Manor School including BCAT Governors and staff, Keir, Fusion Project Management, Novium Architects, the DfE and KCC who have all worked incredibly hard to make this a reality.”

Shellina Prendergast, KCC’s Cabinet Member for Education and Skills said: “This has been a very successful collaborative effort and particular credit is due to our project team who have worked with Barton Court Academy Trust, the Department for Education and the construction company Kier to create this fantastic new building.”
