Mayor of Broadstairs Award Presentation
Posted on: 29/10/2025At the end of Term 1 CDS were proud to present their inaugural Mayor of Broadstairs Award badges to Year 8 and 9 pupils. Over the course of the last year, these pupils committed themselves to the completion of this new award which was not an easy task for them, and the fact that they are being recognised is a testament to their character.
At CDS, a lot is spoken about character being “who you are in the dark”; doing the right thing when others aren’t watching and that steely commitment to self-improvement. These pupils have shown exactly that. They’ve put in the hours to learn new skills, participate in physical activities and help their community through their volunteering. The day walk in July was the culmination of that perseverance with pupils walking nearly 7 miles in a test of endurance, team work and navigation!
The School would like to thank the Mayor, Cllr Mike Garner, for his time in the presentation of these badges and all at the Town Council for their support of the event.
Details on the launch of this year’s award scheme for Year 7 and 8 will be published to pupils during this term.
