We had a bumper night at KS4 Cooking Skills Club and, continuing with our popular TikTok recipe theme, students took on the challenge of making pan-fried hash browns completely from scratch. A hugely successful session with some seriously impressive results!

Our Y9 pupils have been developing their observational drawing skills by exploring mark making with ink to capture the intricate details and textures of shells. The results were fantastic, with excellent examples demonstrating creativity, precision and attention to detail.

Our Y11 after-school intervention programme launched this week, with an impressive 66% of students attending extra GCSE support sessions. Interventions run after school Tuesday to Friday and pupils should check the in school timetable for more information.

We're collecting donations for the Salvation Army Food Bank to support local families in need.  Donations can be given to your Tutor, Head of Year or Mr Allen.  Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference. Thank you for your support and generosity.

KS4 Life Skills Cooking Club took on another viral TikTok recipe this week: Mama’s Crispy Chicken Wings with hot honey drizzle! They practised butchery, marinating and oven-baking techniques, discovering the secret to extra crispy wings: baking powder. Next week, something sweet!

We're proud that our pupils' Pride Club Banner was displayed throughout Pride Month at Margate Queer Library and will remain on display until Christmas! A wonderful celebration of identity, inclusion and LGBTQ+ pride. Congratulations to everyone involved.

Kent Youth Council Council Elections 2025

Ever feel like your voice isn’t heard as a young person? Vote in the KYCC elections!

The countdown to this year’s Kent Youth County Council elections has begun and it is time to vote! https://www.kent.gov.uk/.../kent-youth-county-council...

KYCC is open to all young people aged 11 to 18 years. Sixty young people from across the county will be elected to represent the views and issues of young people in Kent and campaign on the top 3 issues for young people. This year’s elections will take place from 10th – 23rd November.

At CDS, the school is lucky enough to have Tommy standing for election for KYCC!   Pupils are encouraged to show their support and vote online.  CDS pupils can also find the link to voting on their homework platform, Satchel One.
