MFL Department Completes Successful Normandy Trip
Posted on: 08/03/2026The CDS MFL department has returned from its annual educational trip to Normandy, accompanied by 30 Year 8 and Year 9 pupils. The visit offered a valuable combination of French cultural immersion and World War II historical learning. During the trip, pupils visited a traditional goat farm where they were able to hold and feed newborn kids while learning about the goat’s cheese production process. They also explored the Caen Memorial Museum, gaining important insight into France under German occupation during the Second World War.
This enriching experience enabled pupils to see French used authentically in everyday contexts while also strengthening their historical understanding. The department is delighted with the enthusiasm and engagement shown by all pupils throughout the trip.
