Life-Saving Skills in Action
Posted on: 01/05/2026This week, Year 7 pupils took part in an invaluable CPR training session delivered by the dedicated volunteers from Community Lifesavers, equipping students with essential skills that have the potential to save lives.
The session provided pupils with practical, age-appropriate training, helping them understand how to respond confidently and effectively in an emergency situation. While it is hoped these skills will never need to be used, developing awareness and confidence around emergency response is an important part of building lifelong resilience and responsibility.
Through clear instruction and hands-on practice, pupils gained insight into the importance of early intervention and how simple actions can make a significant difference. The training also supported the school’s wider commitment to life skills education, ensuring students are prepared not only academically, but also for real-world situations.
The school is extremely grateful to the Community Lifesavers volunteers for generously giving their time and expertise to deliver such a meaningful programme. Their enthusiasm and professionalism made the experience both engaging and memorable for pupils.
Plans are already underway to welcome Community Lifesavers back in the near future to provide training for the rest of Year 7. The school looks forward to continuing this valuable partnership and further developing pupils’ confidence and understanding of emergency life-saving skills.
